Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
My Story
Dr. Viva Hathaway, the team leader, is a mathematics teacher in an urban school in the United States. She has a Ph.D. Educational Psychology and holds a Masters of Education. She has been to Africa on ten trips since 2012 with three trips to Togo prior to the past six years leading WDI in Uganda. Viva met Tucker during her last trip to Togo and God moved them to build a discipleship team together to equip leaders throughout Africa, beginning with his women leaders. Viva became a Christian in 1977 through InterVarsity, their summer mission program, and Brenda Shadoan. Yes, they are living examples of discipleship in action. A husband, two children and five grandchildren later we remain close friends. Relationship grows- laughter, tears, love, pain, beauty, ashes, we have seen it together as we experience and live in healthy community together. How? I hope our curriculum not only teaches what I have learned, but also how to also live it out. I want nothing more than to share with others what I have learned on this journey as I have been led to a deeper walk with Christ through a healthy community. As others see how my community deepens with strong sisters like Brenda and Lynne, who have added to my faith, prayerfully they will grow as Christ followers.
